"In November of 2017, I did a special edition of my weekly net radio program "Blue Water Drift Dive" focused on the music of Robert Rich, someone who has been a huge influence on me musically. During that program, I decided to do my usual live performance (tongue-in-cheek called an "Ambient Train Wreck"), but this time include a few elements that attempt to show how Robert has changed my musical point of view.

"This recording is the result of that performance. There are no edits other than mastering of the recording itself, so what you hear is exactly what the audience heard that night.

"One other mildly interesting note is that this is the first time I've ever attempted to use the electric guitar in a live ambient performance. I do not pretend to be a guitar player, in any sense of the word, but I do like to use the guitar to add bits and pieces to my studio music. For this live performance, I used the guitar, together with a socket wrench as a slide, and the results are what you hear. The guitar was routed directly into the computer through a Soundcraft preamp, and so all effects and amp modeling were done in software.

"I hope you enjoy this performance as much as I did performing it. It put a big smile on my face, something I wish for you."
